Subject: I think I bricked my sansa e280.

I think I bricked my sansa e280.

Hi all,

I had posted a question about this on the rockbox forums, but since I
haven't actually tried to install rockbox on my sansa (yet), I figure
maybe this is a better place to ask a brick question.

So basically I was uhh...trying to use my e280 as an install USB
device for my old imac (seemed like a great idea at the time!). I had
reformatted it as OS X (journaled) and copied a dmg onto it...only it
didn't work (of course) and now the player won't start up (big
surprise).

I tried the recovery mode thing but all that happens is the player's
blue ring lights up, and the screen stays black. My guess is that the
mac reformatted *everything* on the player's drive so I don't know if
I the 16Mb partition is intact...let alone system/firmware files.

I saw some instructions for the "manufacturer mode"/e200tool, but
those look pretty scary.

Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thx.

Emlyn
