Rockbox mail archiveSubject: is it an illusion or has playback gone to pot recently?is it an illusion or has playback gone to pot recently?
From: Nix <nix_at_esperi.org.uk>
Date: Fri, 29 Feb 2008 21:49:45 +0000 I recently upgraded for the first time since mid-December 2007 to get the most excellent power-saving features, and, well, playback seems to have gone to pot (swcodec, iPod Video 30Gb, so 32Mb RAM, of which 28Mb is free for buffering, roughly)). I've commented on task 8513, but I'm wondering if it's just me, if I've messed up the config somehow: I'd have expected more people to have noticed if playback had gone as badly wrong as this for all swcodec targets. Symptoms so far (spotted in one day): - Moving to the next or previous track has a tendency to stall the playback thread forever (blocking on a lock, maybe?) - When the buffer empties, it refills until the end of that file, and only finishes filling the rest up when the whole file has been entirely played, at which point everything skips back and plays some *previous* track (sometimes the first in the buffer, sometimes not). The latter bug in particular is so obvious that I'm amazed nobody's commented on it: I know other people here play things more than half an hour long, and right now they *all* go wrong, without exception. (This is all with SVN HEAD, r16458: I'm stepping backwards one day at a time right now to see when things went this badly wrong.) -- `The rest is a tale of post and counter-post.' --- Ian Rawlings describes USENETReceived on 2008-02-29 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
