I just rolled back a short distance (to 16542, hardly any distance at
all, and surely not covering anything that should affect this), and...
now the problem's not happening.

I hate multithreading bugs.

If nobody else gets to this, I'll have a look at it the week after next,
but I'm spending next week away from all computers (hence my strong
desire to have rockbox working :) )
