The H300 bootloader has used it's own USB mode for some time now. The last
released (i.e .pre-built) one is v5, but USB bootloader mode only works on
some devices, apparently due to timing issues. I'm running a self-built one
(r14938 modified) which works for me (TM), but I have no idea which
modifications I had performed...

As you're not comfortable with making your own (and presumably not wanting
to risk bricking your H300), I strongly suggest you ask on IRC to find
someone who has the appropriate recovery hardware to test the current H300
SVN bootloader first, with an eye to getting a new bootloader released.

I'd like this to happen so I can use a standard bootloader myself :-).
