There is an effort underway, I'm told, to get Rockbox runing on E200 V2 hardware. I don't know about C200 hardware, but the answer in probably on the Rockbox website somewhere, so don't be afraid to prowl around on the site. If the factory firmware is working, don't update it with newer factory firmware. Sometimes, manufacturers try to lock out third-party firmware, so it may become more difficult to put Rockbox on your player. For instance, Sansdisk tried to lock out Rockbox on the E200 R-series player, because of their deal with Rhapsody. Rhapsody wanted exclusive access to the player for their subscription service, and Rockbox has no provision for that. It didn't work, of course. Some smart people produced a workaround, and now R-series players are Rockboxed, too. The V2 players have different hardware, so the V1 Rockbox version won't work, and will probably brick your player if you succeed in getting the firmware installed. --Mark Allums Received on 2008-03-23 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
