RE: booting up iPod 5.5G

I have a 5.5G iPod 80GB and it seems like very often, although not
*every* time, I have to hold down menu/select for several (say, 10 or
so) seconds before it turns on. I hold down the play button to shut it
down. Am I doing something wrong? Does anyone else have that problem?

Tommy B.
You *should* be able to just tap Menu and then it'll boot up - that's
the standard way of starting the iPod. The button combination that
you've suggested is the hard reset and used for switching from the OF
back to Rockbox.
If you have to hold Menu/Select then it sounds like there may be
something more untoward happening?!
