While it is true that the USB bridges used in the SH1-based Archoses don't support LBA48 addresing, it doesn't mean you cannot use hard disks with >136 GB (128 GiB) in an archos. It's just a little bit more complicated, as USB only provides access to the first 128 GiB. You need to make 2 partitions, one that's confined to the first 128 GiB, and a second one covering the rest. Then you need to make your own rockbox build with LBA48 and multivolume support.
