Rockbox mail archiveSubject: Power from USB?Power from USB?

Date: Sat, 24 May 2008 10:24:41 +0100 Hi. I'm using Rockbox r17612-080523 on an iRiver H340, and trying to work out what the manual (section 3.4, page 21) means by "The player can be powered over USB without connecting to your computer by holding Rec while plugging in. This allows you to continue using the player normally." If I start with the device powered off: If I press REC and then plug in USB, the device power up and enters the original iRiver firmware (as documented in section 3.1.3, dual booting). If I plug in USB and then press REC, I get "Bootloader USB mode", it isn't clear whether the device is charging up, but I can't use it. If I start with the device powered on: If I press REC and then plug in USB, it starts recording. If I plug in USB and then press REC, I get a picture of a USB plug on the display, and I can't use the device. Is this a bug, or am I reading the instructions wrongly (if so, what should I be doing to charge the device while I use it)? Thanks for any help. Antony. -- I love deadlines.
