Firstly, there is a very significant difference between "Stop" and
"Pause": While music is Paused, voice cannot function. Stop is necessary
if one wishes to hear voice without any music.

Stop clears the WPS because literally it is a "While Playing Screen" and
cannot be displayed while nothing is playing. When "Paused" technically
the audio is still playing, it is merely paused (the audio is still in
the audio buffer, and the playback engine is just waiting to resume
consuming it).

This is how the "stop" and "pause" function work on all Rockbox targets.
They even work that way on cpchan's build, you just don't know which
button actually stops playback, because it's significantly less apparent
(which is a downside for blind users).
