Yes, this definitely needs to be addressed as its wholly un-intuitive
and cumbersome, although it *does* produce the intended result (after
quitting record mode.)

Ideally, if I was playing music, and I insert a USB cable, the "mass
storage" popup will display, without interrupting the music. Or, if I
have set the option initially, it will just start charging without
interrupting/recording.
