This boils down to a lot more than what is said on-list. This list is frankly very self-righteous, and has a very bad tendency to respond to reminders that there are expected behaviour guidelines for those on the list very poorly. I would like to remind you: There is no guideline that says we can't publicly enforce rules. Nor do members of the list get to write new ones. > Flames are direct attacks. Dominik was made to feel unwelcome, and frankly, neither you nor I witnessed the full exchange he was exposed to. If he chose to leave the list, he felt he had good reason. I do know for a fact he was contacted privately, though I don't know what was said, and that the private contact is what made him choose to leave. If you want to get upset about his leaving, get upset at the person who felt he couldn't just drop the issue, but had to harass a developer in private as well beyond simply offering his opinion in public and leaving it at that. I'm quite certain if it had just been left to the public comments, it wouldn't have been enough to cause him to leave. ------------------------------------------------------------------- List admin: http://cool.haxx.se/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rockbox FAQ: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GeneralFAQ Etiquette: http://www.rockbox.org/mail/etiquette.html Received on 2008-07-06 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
