The only way to get past this was to zero the data on the iPod, and reinstall from scratch. I now have a new build, and proper battery behavior. BUT: even this new build can't be overwritten, if I want to upgrade! It's weird: all the system files remain invisible in Mac OS X, even when I search for invisible files; and neither the automatic installer nor manual installation of a new build seems to do anything. It *says* that it's succeeded in installing, but when I boot up... same old version. Ideas? -- Douglas Anthony Cooper NEW NOVEL: http://tinyurl.com/3dkfgv BLOG: www.dysblog.blogspot.com "Anyone who doesn't read Cortázar is doomed. Not to read him is a serious invisible disease which, in time, can have terrible consequences. Something similar to a man who has never tasted peaches. He would quietly become sadder, noticeably paler, and probably, little by little, he would lose all his hair." - Pablo Neruda ------------------------------------------------------------------- List admin: http://cool.haxx.se/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rockbox FAQ: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GeneralFAQ Etiquette: http://www.rockbox.org/mail/etiquette.htmlReceived on 2008-09-11 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
