To elaborate on DJ Paddy's remarks, it is indeed necessary to make sure you're running an up-to-date version of the talk clip generation program, which is now known as Voicebox+.zip. The same thing happened to me when I attempted to run Voicebox on my iPod fifth generation 30 GB unit late last year. The necessity to run Voicebox+ began, I believe, with any version of Rockbox dated after about October of 2007.
