Thanks for replying - your name looks familiar from one of the Sansa-
Rockbox project threads I was recently reading. If I recall
correctly, you were one of those involved in ongoing efforts to bring
Rockbox to the v.2 e200's & the Fuse - no? My hat is off to you and
the others that develop for Rockbox - its quite an amazing piece of
collective work.

If you don't mind, I'm going to outline a few questions for you and
others that read this list (and associated newsgroup). I use Rockbox
on a Sansa e270 v1.

1. A suggestion: the Rockbox website should only post themes that are
"certified" to work on 3.0 or later builds. I've got at least 20 or
30 themes that only work with specific builds and specific non-3.0-
compliant fonts.

2. I've tried some of the custom builds (CPChan and Kugel), but have
repeatedly returned to 3.0 (and now more current "standard" builds).
The reasons include

a. MOST IMPORTANTLY: the voice menus don't match the new folders
found in these themes, when a "broken font" scrambles the screen and
the voice is not reliable to tell you where you are, you're FUBARed.
b. When these new builds get the 1/2 of the themes to work that don't
currently work, the original themes that DID work, now DON'T! (if
that makes any sense!)
c. My definition of a theme that doesn't work: the wps screen shows
the id3 label (it seems) with volume bars and a background, or in
better cases, the screen is 75% working, just not fitting correctly
(or a horizontal white line obscures the middle of the album art).
Are these typical of other's experience?

3. When trying a different build, besides dumping the contents of the
build's archive onto the target player, are there any preference or
database files or other files that should be deleted for a new fresh
start - perhaps this will fix my problem with voice menus not
matching the actual folders.
