Rockbox mail archiveSubject: Duplicates In DatabaseDuplicates In Database

Date: Mon, 13 Oct 2008 16:09:49 -0400 Why would some tracks appear twice in the database? Some of the tracks that appear twice are loose in a "/My Music" folder, and others are every track within one or two (of about 30) folders within the aforementioned folder (i.e. /My Music/Across The Universe Disc 1/ * - * - every track within Across The Universe Disc 1 appears twice). As mentioned, the duplication only affects a couple of folders and certain loose mp3s on the player. The player is a Sansa e270, running a recent daily build and otherwise works 100%. The database is set to autoupdate, directory cache is ON, the database loads to RAM and it is gathering runtime data. I've twice tried to delete the database after initializing and I ended up with the same duplication problem. The second time I even reorganized the tracks (into the current hierarchical format I described!), and the same problem keeps occurring. Could it have something to do with extreme length of the ID3 album tag, as one that's duplicating is showing up in DB mode as album title "Across The Universe-Music From The Motion Picture (Deluxe Edition)"? Does the folder name have to match the ID3 tag for album title, could THAT be the reason, as I have it in a folder of a different name. Disclaimer - No, my musical taste isn't that lame (Across The Universe). I'm more of a King Crimson, Jeff Beck, opera & classical music listener. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------- List admin: http://cool.haxx.se/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rockbox FAQ: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GeneralFAQ Etiquette: http://www.rockbox.org/mail/etiquette.html Received on 2008-10-13 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
