You don't need to change your email client. You can keep it at your current settings, just edit your messages. Outlook Express does come with a text editor, right? ;-)

Quotes are used for a purpose: To connect your reposnse to what someone said before. Often it is enough to quote just a line or two before you write your reply. This is best done by hand.

Overquoting is always bad, whether you put the overquoted text above of below your response.
