If you're going to top-post, you may as well not quote the previous
message at all. If you're going to respond without pre-text establishing
context, you may as well just refer them to the public archive of the
list if they wish to establish context for themselves after reading the
response.

So it remains that this isn't a reason to top post. It's just a reason
to get a better mail client, or simply learn to use your existing one.
