Or at least, you "know" it exactly as much as you "know" you've held down the button that shuts down the player from any screen. That's what confuses me: If you don't "know" you've pressed the shutdown button until there's feedback from the drive spin, how do you "know" you've done it on a menu entry until there's feedback? > The issue is that on the targets without dedicated Power buttons, > holding one button down (e.g. Play on the iPods) could stop the music > without shutting down the player. > > If you do hold the button too short a time (nothing I've ever had a problem with, it's not a particularly long hold) the idle shutdown will still turn off your player, and while idle very, very little battery is consumed anyway. And you can always just hold down the button a little longer to be sure. It'll still take less time than digging the player out of a pocket, looking at a screen, navigating to a selection, and then selecting it. ------------------------------------------------------------------- List admin: http://cool.haxx.se/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rockbox FAQ: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GeneralFAQ Etiquette: http://www.rockbox.org/mail/etiquette.html Received on 2008-12-03 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
