I'm not a native English speaker, but I have the impression that lots of people here are interpreting an unfriendly attitude into Paul's posts without trying to understand what he's really talking about.
People are posting here because they have a question or a problem related to Rockbox. All of us should appreciate that Paul is actually one of the few members who really, really tries to help a lot. He helps users by answering questions and he helps developers by guiding the users to post their problems properly. This includes proper layout (no, I don't want to discuss top-posting any more), the proper places to report things (list or bug tracker) and some guidance of where the information could be found. I think it can be expected from the members of a free(!) service that they do everything they can to make life easier for those who are actually doing the work.
In many cases, reminding the users of good list etiquette is more work than actually just answering the question. I really thank Paul for taking the effort again and again, because that's what really helps the project and the community. After all, we're all here to make Rockbox better...

Just my two cents,
