Or am I overlooking something? ISO 8859-1 includes quite a few non-ASCII chars (as you can see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8859-1), so I don't see what is so strange about that. If that doesn't work with id3info, I'd blame id3info, or perhaps the shell configuration... :) The fact that the "n" of "ún" and the "i" of "ái" is missing makes be suspect that id3info outputs the text as ISO 8859-1 but the shell displays it as UTF-8.
