Yes, I agree. I would rather have Ogg files than MP3s and I don't have
the original media for some of my music.

Is there a Vorbis comment editor for Linux that perhaps I can fix the
comment/ID3 tag problem? Should there only be comments and not tags
for the purpose of rockbox playback?
