Hi,

I suspect you'll have problems with item 2, but it would be possible to make
some sort of crank-powered USB charger for any MP3 player that will recharge
from a powered but disconnected USB port (e.g. anything that works with
MintyBoost <http://www.ladyada.net/make/mintyboost/>). Consider that
separately and all you're looking for is a decent cheap MP3 player, which
should be easier.
