Could you give very specific details about what conditions this occurs
under? Specifically, do you have the settings at default, or changed
(and does it still occur if you reset to default), what file types
exactly does it occur under, does it occur on all track transitions,
etc? Everything possible so that someone not having the problem can
attempt to replicate it.

The Sansas aren't terribly underpowered compared to other MP3 players.
You may wish to consider isolating in-ear earphones so that you can
listen at lower volumes, if you're really needing to turn it up loudly.

How are you concatenating them? Simply concatenating MP3 files shouldn't
result in an MP3 that plays fine unless your files are completely untagged.

Could you please test with official builds from our download servers,
rather than ones you're compiling yourself?
