Now that's interesting. If I encode my test files separately using lame
(with an Info tag), I do get a gapless splice.

Bizarrely, if I encode using --nogap and --nogaptags, I don't, but the
splice isn't as noticeable as with tagless (and gapless) streams.

I'm stumped.
