Date: Wed, 29 Jul 2009 23:34:01 -0400 Dear all, I'm trying to install rockbox on a ipod mini 1st generation. I have both tried automatic and manual installation, and they seem to work, but in both cases I receive the following error message when rebooting the ipod: Can't find rockbox.ipod I read from the instructions that a likely cause is that the bootloader cannot find the firmware. I have installed the firmware to the root of the player's drive (i.e. the /mnt/usb in my case), so I don't get why the bootloader won't find the firmware. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. ipodpatcher shows the following information [INFO] Scanning disk devices... [INFO] Ipod found - 1st Generation Mini ("winpod") - /dev/sdb [INFO] Reading partition table from /dev/sdb [INFO] Sector size is 512 bytes [INFO] Part Start Sector End Sector Size (MB) Type [INFO] 0 63 80324 39.2 Empty (0x00) [INFO] 1 80325 7999486 3866.8 W95 FAT32 (0x0b) [INFO] Ipod model: 1st Generation Mini ("winpod") The only odd thing to me is the mounting part -- I have not explicitly mounted the device, and cannot unmount it (umount /mnt/usb --> no such device mounted). Thanks a lot!
