Date: Sat, 29 Aug 2009 13:37:43 +1000 Hi I recently upgraded an older first generation ipod mini, its now got an 8g flash and rockbox nightly from 1-Aug-09 The battery life seemed a bit off at 4 hours, so I opened it up and made some measurements. With backlight on, playing the thing draws some 221 mA With a 600mA/h battery thats a life of 2hr 40. Backlight off, playing few hundred KHz encoded mp3 files, draws 60-65 mA depending on track, volume, etc. That should run 9-10 hours depending mainly on the backlight. Most of my music is ogg, however. That tends to draw a similar current (perhaps a ma more) most of the time, but spikes to 118ma for about 330ms every (about) 2.6 seconds. I suspected disk activity till I realized it was just on ogg files. Any clues as to what the decoder could be doing here?
