Which bookmark menu are you deleting from? If it is the "Recent
Bookmarks" menu, you could try to set bookmarks to "Recent Only".

You can set it to ask before resuming a bookmark.

(Note to self: the bookmarking parts of the manual need improvements, I
think...)
