Two reasons. 1) Rockbox would take away the ability to play the protected NLS content for which the players were designed, and (perhaps more importantly) 2) the player is the property of the Federal government and on loan to you. Thus, you're not really allowed to reverse engineer it. If, however, you want NLS content on supported Rockbox players, you can pretty well forget about that, too, again for two reasons: 1) the NLS will not authorize it, or very likely would not, and again more importantly, 2) Rockbox does not and, I understand, will not support DRM-protected content. -- Buddy Brannan, KB5ELV - Erie, PA Phone: (814) 860-3194 or 888-75-BUDDY On Aug 20, 2010, at 9:42 AM, Sean Inglis wrote: > Tom > > Can you clarify what it is you're after? > > It sounds as if you'd like the audio content available from these > various publishers, but you don't particularly like the players > themselves for whatever reason? > > Is this correct? > > Sean > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > Unsubscribe: http://cool.haxx.se/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rockbox > FAQ: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GeneralFAQ > Etiquette: http://www.rockbox.org/mail/etiquette.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe: http://cool.haxx.se/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rockbox FAQ: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GeneralFAQ Etiquette: http://www.rockbox.org/mail/etiquette.htmlReceived on 2010-08-20 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
