It works for many cards, but recently it doesn't seem to work so well for
certain newer cards, especially card with 16GB cards.

As far as I know, there is a workaround consisting of some extra delays
during
initialisation of the uSD that makes it work. Having to add delays is
probably
masking the real problem and not much effort has been put into find the root
cause.

Perhaps we could put the delay in as a temporary fix.
We're currently in freeze for the 3.8 release.
I don't know what other people think about this.
