While the iPod is unplugged, go into Settings --> General Settings -->
Display --> LCD Settings --> Backlight (While Plugged In). It sounds
like that setting is probably set to "On", for some reason. Change it to
one of the time settings (such as 10 seconds) and see if that fixes it.
