Rockbox will always boot by default on an ipod 5th generation (the ipod 5th
generation is called ipod video, not ipod classic, by the way).
However (as discussed very recently on another thread) the ipod will boot
into the apple firmware if the HOLD switch is ON when it gets plugged into
usb.
For this reason, you may wish to turn the HOLD switch to OFF before
connecting usb.
