Things for You to try:

Does your ipod work in your car usb if you boot the ipod into the Apple
firmware instead of the rockbox firmware?

Does the 'usb connected' logo appear on your ipod when running rockbox when
connecting to your car?

Does your ipod usb work when you connect your ipod to a pc/laptop/mac/etc
instead of your car?

Is there anything in your car audio manual that lists specific devices or
requirements for files/folders in order for in-car usb device audio to work?

Ipod usb storage connectivity has worked out of the box since release 3.6 if
I remember correctly. If your car doesn't behave the same as your pc, you
will need to try a few things out and report back with More Detail, in order
to help us help you.
