no, if the original firmware is still working on your device just use
the rockbox utility to "install"
rockbox again and then follow the steps to install the bootloader. only
after that rockbox is ready.
without bootloader there is just a new directory (.rockbox) on your
device and nothing will happen.
you dont have to remove or reinstall something. i never had to use the
original cd (its still in the case)
