Date: Tue, 31 Jan 2012 22:57:43 +1300 It is supported, and yes...emCORE is the only way to get Rockbox to boot at present (and likely will continue to be for the near foreseeable future) as there is no Rockbox bootloader. It runs very well, however battery life is reduced compared to that of the original firmware, and there is no dual-boot...so installation means losing the original firmware and iTunes support. There is also no support from Rockbox Utility (the installer), installation is completely manual. Head on over to the freemyipod project for more details.
