yes i've been using since december with rockbox. Never had this problem.

i did, when it says "refreshing new media" with a loading bar. when the
loading bar ends, it shows a static image, and i have to force shut it down.

not really, when i connect it to my pc (win8) it just shows the rockbox
image, and then Boot 4.0 message. After a while the pc notifies me that the
device wasnt recognized. Of course it doesnt let me access the sd card or
the memory.
