I'm not sure they'd see it as a bug either. Both m3u and m3u8 are
extensions for the same MIME type: application/x-mpegurl (and Rhythmbox
export formats are specified by MIME type, not extension). I don't really
know the history here, so I don't know what Rockbox gains by treating m3u
files differently, but it looks like one of those incompatibilities that
arises from a lack of specification of the file format itself, so neither
piece of software actually has a fault to be fixed. :/
