Many new devices can port rockbox provided at least one developper has one in his hand, is willing to dig into to it and does it successfully. It may take weeks, months or more depending on how much time he can devote to it and how hard it is. Some devices may be impossible to use. If your player is rare, chances are no developper has ever heard of it…
You could offer to send one device (yours or a second one bought sor the purpose…) to a developper OR you could try to convince some of the guys from the manufacturing company to join the rockbox community : that would be the best and fastest option since they would already know everything about the hardware. Seems like a good idea but I have never heard of such a thing happening up until now.
