I got a Fiio X3II and thought a year ago about porting Rockbox to it, but life happened. Perhaps next year I will be able to find time again for it.

As far as I remember, except for the Android one, that all of them run Chinas Realtime OS and get updated by an zip file containing the binary blob and a manifest file for checksum validation. So it should be possible to look in to the assembly to find the io port configuration and to use the update procedure to flash Rockbox. Used chips are listed in the official technical docs and the players are easy to open, so it shouldn't be a problem to find out what is in there.

I remember someone talked with me about this in the IRC, but can't remember who.

If someone knows more and / or is also thinking about porting to Fiio, please drop a message. I would probably more willing to start it if I'm not alone at it.
