They are completley different -- At the most basic level, the X3 II has a decent color screen, but the first-gen only has a tiny OLED screen and a partcularly wonky button layout. Rockbox master natively supports the 1st-gen farily well (except an easy way to install the bootloader). There's out-of-tree code that supports the 2nd generation (running as a Linux application on top of the stock firmware). - Solomon -- Solomon Peachy pizza at shaftnet dot org Coconut Creek, FL ^^ (email/xmpp) ^^ Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe: http://cool.haxx.se/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rockbox FAQ: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GeneralFAQ Etiquette: http://www.rockbox.org/mail/etiquette.html
