Hello MK,

I also generate voice files I'm using a dev build of rockbox on my x3,
I wish a new stable build of rb and the rb utility would be available
but for now I use a dev build, on my x3. I was having the same issue
you related, correctly generating the voice files on a pc, and that
file subsequently being installed on the player. But no speech. The
fix was I had to manually edit the rockbox configuration file
config.cfg in the .rockbox folder and specify the language in there
including .lng extension. Once I did that, restarted the player and
the .voice file I put in was working. A note I also had to generate
directory and folder talk files, which happens in the same tab as you
used in the rb utility to generate the voice file.

By the way have you used voice files before and if so have you noticed
lately that the files don't speak as much as they use to, for example
battery status, (even though that option is on), or deleting a folder
or file or bookmark and automatically speaking the next folder, file,
or bookmark in the list?
