Rockboxers,

Many of you have heard about the drama surrounding FOSSHost, the folks providing
hosting services to Rockbox. The ver short version is that around the end of 2022,
they sort of imploded and strongly encouraged folks running on their infrastructure
to seek alternative options ASAP.

We acquired a new commercial VM at that time, and I set it up with a snapshot of
the current VM, with the intent of switching fully over when I had the personal
bandwidth to set up a formal service migration.

I've kept the data and configuration synchronzed at least every few
days, plus nightly backups, so this is largely a matter of a final
shutdown of the old server, data sync, and changing over DNS.

...Three months later, it's finally happening.

To be honest I expected FOSSHost to completely implode well before this
point, and its unexpected reprieve has allowed me to keep putting this off.

So, Sunday, 2022-03-26, starting at around 12:00pm US Eastern Time, I'm
going to do the switchover. Because most data is already synchronized,
I expect this to take no more than an hour, though DNS propogation will
probably take longer.

This new VM is hosted on OVHCloud, and represents about a 2x bump in raw
oomph (storage, ram, disk) over the current VM, so there's plenty of
room to grow. We have the funds in the bank to cover costs for at least
the next couple of years, though obviously donations to the operating
fund are appreciated.
