That's the maximum CPU clock speed -- it's dynamically reclockable and rockbox already has the internal APIs to indicate when we need more or less oomph. That said, the audio codec/headphone amp, RAM, power supply (and other analog circuitry) will probably dwarf the CPU core's draw, even with the display off. > Forthermore I saw a DAC spec of 12bit only... That's for the builtin general-purpose DAC/ADCs, which are _not_ used for audio -- The ADCs are for things like measuring battery voltage, button input (single input used for most buttons, each registering as a different voltage) and so forth, whereas the DAC might be used to adjust backlight brightness or any number of other tasks. - Solomon -- Solomon Peachy pizza at shaftnet dot org (email&xmpp) _at_pizza:shaftnet dot org (matrix) Dowling Park, FL speachy (libra.chat) -- Unsubscribe: http://lists.haxx.se/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rockbox FAQ: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GeneralFAQ Etiquette: http://www.rockbox.org/mail/etiquette.html
