The 'skip to next folder' part of it (which was implemented
before under that name) does work on archos. It defaulted to
off before being extended into 'folder navigation'. Sunday's
build resetted the settings, and since my .cfg files didn't
contain a line to switch it off (they couldn't), it was suddenly
enabled. This was the part that made me upset: My archos
recorder did skip to the next album instead of stopping at the
end of the current one, a behaviour that I neither wanted nor
even expected.
