I'm not saying it's better... it's just a matter of choice, and I think
that has been discussed before.
-Adding an APEv2 tag is much faster: no need to rewrite the whole file
(I do a lot of tags editing, so that's a good reason for me)
-mp3gain reads and writes APEv2 to store the replaygain (and also
adjusts the gain of each mp3 frame, which makes it better than foobar
for backward compatibility with programs that don't read RG)

The question is not "are APEv2 tags better than id3v2?" but rather "why
shouldn't rockbox support APEv2 tags in mp3 if the code is there?"
