Subject: H300 simulator crashes

H300 simulator crashes

From: Steve Bavin <pondlife_at_ntlworld.com>

Hi all,

First post here from a long-time Rockbox user; I've had an Archos Recorder
V1 10GB for several years but recently obtained an iriver H340. I just
followed the Wiki instructions and have built the SDL simulator using a
standard Cygwin installation (under Windows 2000 SP4) from this morning's
CVS.

The resulting simulator works fine until I attempt to play any audio. At
this point, (1) audio playback is very choppy and (2) any attempt to stop
playback (or switch songs) crashes the simulator with an access violation
(always an attempt to access address 0x00000008).

This second problem is a bit of a pain, and it has me wondering if my build
is incorrect. Does this happen to anyone else? If it's just me, I'd be
grateful for any pointers (urgh) on how to debug under this environment (I
speak x86 and a little C, and I'd like to help...). I only have experience
with MSDev6 as a debugger, but it looks like I just missed the end of the
Win32 sims.. ;-)

Thanks in advance,
Liam K
