Rockbox mail archiveSubject: GNU binutils-2.16.1 chokes on empty libraries, MacOSX ar tooGNU binutils-2.16.1 chokes on empty libraries, MacOSX ar too

Date: Wed, 26 Apr 2006 15:17:56 +0200 Hi, I just tried to compile rockbox on Mac OS X (mine is intel), and got the following issues: binutils 2.16.1 m68k-elf-ld doesn't like empty libraries (libbitmapsmono.a and libbitmapsremotemono.a are empty for an H120 build). Similarly, when building a simulator (only the core works on Mac OS X, dynamic objects handling has to be rewritten), the Mac OS X "ar" chokes on building empty libraries (GNU "ar" doesn't complain). Conclusion, those libraries should not be built and linked against if they're empty. Has anybody already solved this problem?
