I strongly disagree with this idea. One man's esoteric is another man's
essential.

I don't particularly think a "simple" mode is a good idea either; that (to
me) would be further bloat.

Idea: Perhaps the manual text could be stored on the DAP (we generally have
plenty of HD space) and some kind of option could be added to display the
relevent text for each menu screen? But part of me thinks this is bloat
too...!!
