I always looked at the LEFT and RIGHT buttons as navigation keys. If
the object is a folder, the RIGHT buttons enters the folder. If it is
an option the RIGHT button applies it. The LEFT button would back out
of the folder without applying the selection. I don't think I ever
used the ON or OFF key to select or cancel.

That being said, the idea of an indication as to which option is
currently selected might be nice when toggling through all the
options.
