Nah, sufficient contrast in the image as well as drop shadowing helps that alot. I've never observed difficulty seeing color icons on a wide range of backdrop colors/images if carefully designed for contrast. Larger size would help too. > We've gone withthe + for submenus and a dot for commands... Guess I missed out on the debate but + is used for expandable tree items in UIs and it's meaning I think well established. I guess I don't understand why these common conventions should be ignored and something else reinvented or misappropriated. Things should be modeled out of what has common meaning and even copy the best aspect observed in other devices (cellphones, TVs, any other common appliance with a gui and even *gasp* retailos). I guess we want a stop sign to look like a speed limit sign in effect and not have things be a bit awkward (I'm assuming they look rather different in your country as they do in mine). And the + is on the left?..which would make it not possible to have submenus with their own icon. The dot for otoh for commands...suppose I like that even if it looks like list bullets and doesn't bring radio buttons to mind too much. Can't wait to see what's ever decided upon for expandable items if that ever happens. Using arrows (right for unexpanded and down for expanded) is pretty common. Guess it's all decided and set. those are my thought on that issue anyway. :) Received on 2007-02-15 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
