Optimizing plugin-shutdowns using threads

Hello Devs!

I've thougth about this stupid little idea for a couple of weeks, and decided to post it here.

When exiting many of the plugins, they save the highscore, game and so on, and that means that the user have to wait 1-5 seconds ca.
It is not much time, but it still would be nice to speed it up a little.

What about making a thread f.ex. named "Rockboy save thread", which still runs 1-5 seconds _after_ the game is finished, and when finished with saving exits itself (If the thread API allows a thread to close itself)?

I dont hope this idea is completely stupid, at it would make using plugins a little more "smoother","faster" or what to say.

Jonashn
